LAWRENCE, Mass.–Material handling distributor Abel Womack has donated a new Raymond 400” reach truck to the Greater Boston Food Bank, a non-profit relief agency.

The GBFB has almost completed construction of a new 117,000sf distribution center scheduled to open this month. With their existing material handling equipment, the GBFB did not have a way to access the top levels of the taller racks in their new distribution center. Recognizing current budget constraints, Abel Womack donated a truck built to GBFB specifications. As part of the package, the battery to run the truck, as well as a year of free maintenance services, was included.

“Considering that the Food Bank is literally keeping some of our less fortunate community members alive, this donation was pretty much a no-brainer,” said John Croce, President and CEO of Abel Womack.
