AIM Global (Warrendale, Penn.), a trade association focused on automatic identification and mobility, today announced that the RFID Experts Group (REG), will form an action group to provide guidance related to RFID middleware, application software, and hybrid AIDC management tools.

The work group will operate within the structure of the RFID Experts Group and will be led by Dr. Nissim Ozer, CTO and executive vice president of RF Code, Inc. (Mesa, Az), an RFID platform vendor. Dr. Ozer is an IT industry veteran with development and executive experience in automatic data collection, client/server systems and artificial intelligence markets.

“As the RFID market evolves and incorporates various forms of AIDC data,” says Dr. Ozer, “there is an increasing focus on transforming this information into actionable business intelligence.” Collecting massive amounts of information is not the goal, he says. “The process of filtering, consolidating, and managing this information will be instrumental in capturing an overall ROI.”

Craig K. Harmon, REG chairperson adds, “It is important for the industry experts to collaborate. Bringing experts from the software, hardware, and end-user application areas together to develop this guidance will be instrumental in the continued growth of RFID to improve business value.”
