ATLANTA, GEORGIA, July 22, 2003 @ Finmatica announced today that Avlon Industries, Bedford Park, Illinois, has purchased the FINeCHAIN Demand Forecasting, Strategic Inventory Planning, Requirements Planning, and Sales & Operations Planning modules to help improve forecasting and materials planning processes in their supply chain. Avlon needed a flexible solution that will reduce stock without compromising customer service.

“With FINeCHAIN we saw that we could gain better control over inventory, and plan materials in the same package,” said Mustafa Mahmood Bhatti, planning & scheduling manager at Avlon. “Finmatica was the only vendor shortlisted who could provide that level of functionality a single solution at a price point we were comfortable with.”

Additionally, Avlon will have more control over promotional activity and occurrences of backorders with their sales and marketing teams in the field.

“Now, with FINeCHAIN, our sales executives and materials planners will be on the same page. We’ll have more visibility to review cost of inventory as it relates to customer service; and we didn’t have that before,” Bhatti added. “The strategic inventory planning piece will allow us to look at customer service levels required by sales and marketing and the materials planner will be able to say ‘Okay, that’s going to cost you X dollars.’ This visibility will undoubtedly cut down the number of backorders and improve customer service.”

Avlon also needed a flexible solution that could grow as their business grows. With significant investment in R&D and years of scientific research, Avlon products out-perform the competition, which has led to significant growth and gains in market share.

“With a double-digit growth rate every year, we need a solution flexible enough to grow with us and we believe we’ve found that in FINeCHAIN,” Bhatti said.
