Barloworld is now providing technical training at its full-service training center in Charlotte to both its employees and customers. The company says it believes strongly in technical training and employs four, full-time technical trainers.

The company encourages all 30 of its branches to participate in its training classes, which include operator training (site, application and unit specific), technical training (electric and ICE) and supervisor and train-the-trainer courses. Barloworld’s philosophy extends to the company’s training efforts.

Barloworld Handling is one of the largest Hyster lift truck dealers with an authorized U.S. sales territory covering eight Southeastern states. The company services its customers through 30 locations and approximately 800 employees, of which 50 percent are technicians. Barloworld offers technical training courses for the Hyster Fortis and XN Series, as well as basic hydraulics and electric troubleshooting, fuel systems and operator training.

“By increasing awareness surrounding the importance of lift truck education, both Barloworld and Hyster benefit from more knowledgeable customers and are able to provide superior service and support,” said Brett Schemerhorn, vice president of sales, Hyster Company. “In turn, employees benefit from the knowledge that their company promotes self-improvement in a rewarding, challenging, and value-based atmosphere, and the end user benefits from all of the above.”
