Briggs and LiftOne Apply to be Hyster Dealers

Material handling equipment dealers Briggs Equipment and LiftOne have executed letters of interest to acquire portions of Barloworld Handling’s assets. With these acquisitions, Hyster Company will appoint both companies as authorized dealers for the sales and service of Hyster brand lift trucks in portions of Barloworld’s territory.

Barloworld Handling has accepted these companies’ letters of interest and is conducting due diligence of their U.S. materials handling operations. Once completed, these transactions will position Briggs and LiftOne as among the largest Hyster dealers in the United States.

Briggs will have responsibility for a large portion of the southern United States, and will sell and service Hyster brand lift trucks in Florida, Arkansas and Atlanta, and portions of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

LiftOne will have responsibility for portions of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. It will operate Barloworld branch locations in these States, including the Barloworld Headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.

Briggs is currently one of the largest dealers of Yale brand lift trucks, with branches servicing Yale products and customers in portions of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. Briggs International subsidiaries are also the Yale dealers for the United Kingdom and the Hyster and Yale dealer for most of Mexico.

LiftOne is a division of Carolina Tractor and a dealer of Caterpillar earth moving equipment, with branch locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Both Hyster Company and Yale Materials Handling Corporation are operating divisions of NACCO Materials Handling Group.
