The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported its April 2004 Booked Orders Index was 160, down 27 points or a decrease of 14 percent

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported its April 2004 Booked Orders Index was 160, down 27 points or a decrease of 14 percent from March 2004’s Index of 187 (1990=100). The April 2004 Index represents an increase of 12 percent from the April 2003 Index of 143.

April Booked Orders Indexes were 174 for bulk handling equipment and 143 for unit handling equipment..

The 12-month index for booked orders was 141 in April. Index represents an increase of 1 percent from March 2004’s 12-month index of 140.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 147 in April, down 38 points or a decrease of 20 percent from the March index of 185. The April 2004 index represents an increase of 2 percent from the April 2003 index of 144.

April Billed Sales Indexes were 164 for bulk handling equipment and 143 for unit handling equipment.

The 12-month index for billed sales was 143 in April. Index represents an increase of 1 percent from March 2004’s 12-month index of 142.
