The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA, Naples, Fla.) reports that overall shipments for the first 6 months of 2006 increased 2.8% compared to the same period in 2005, with total shipments of $2.6 billion. CEMA estimates industry orders (bookings) of $2.5 billion in the same period. In the bulk conveying area, bookings were up 50% and shipments were up 56%.

CEMA President, Tom Easterhouse announced the results at the Association’s Fall Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Executives representing CEMA member companies who attended the organization's Fall Meeting felt confident that new equipment orders and shipments would continue growing for the rest of 2006.
