STREETSBORO, OH Automated Packaging Systems, the world leader in high-reliability packaging systems, announces the availability of DeviceNet connectivity

STREETSBORO, OH – Automated Packaging Systems, the world leader in high-reliability packaging systems, announces the availability of DeviceNet connectivity on its Autobag® Accu-Count® and Kit-Veyor® systems for simpler, faster, and more reliable system integration.

DeviceNet replaces traditional I/O hardwiring and signaling with a high-speed, bi-directional serial communications platform, simplifying operations. Using onboard controllers and software, the programmable system provides a high level data structure, improving overall system control and diagnostic capabilities. Users can access diagnostic information from one central location. The quick and intelligent DeviceNet connectivity increases system throughput and productivity.

The flexibility of DeviceNet allows seamless integration of Autobag AB-series baggers with Accu-Count 100/200 counters and the Kit-Veyor 80G automatic kitting system. Technology advancements include comprehensive system diagnostics and troubleshooting from the bagger’s AutoTouch™ Control Screen. Additionally, automatic sequencing on the Kit-Veyor system significantly reduces start-up and shut-down times and improves kitting accuracy by sequencing all counters from start-up to clean-up.

“This commitment to advanced technology and communications enables us to continue to meet the evolving automation needs of our customers,” says Tim Groff, Director of Marketing.

Going forward, this is the first step in advanced automation that meets the growing demands of customers for flexible, intelligent packaging systems. Future versions of Autobag DeviceNet will be available to enhance third-party integration capabilities. Already installed units may be eligible for a field upgrade. Please call the factory for more information.

All of Automated Packaging Systems’ products are backed by a nationwide network of factory-direct field service engineers.
