Engineered Solutions to Distribute Seegrid Robots

PITTSBURGH—Seegrid Corp., a supplier of vision-guided mobile robots for the material handling industry, announced that Engineered Solutions, a division of Carolina Tractor, has signed on as its first founding distributor.

Engineered Solutions will sell, service and support Seegrid's industrial mobile robots within its regional dealership network, starting with the GT3. The 3,000-pound-capacity GT3 tugger/tow tractor is Seegrid's first vision-guided robot that frees up skilled employees by taking care of non-value-added work, such as pulling flatbed carts and positioning supplies in tight areas.

“Our robots are based on industrial mobile robotics technology which means they use no lasers, tape or wires,” says Joel Reed, director of channel sales at Seegrid.

Engineered Solutions, and its sister division, LiftOne, provide material handling products. Carolina Tractor has eight branch locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., the company supplies lift trucks; specialty equipment, such as narrow-aisle and very-narrow-aisle equipment; attachments, batteries and chargers; and facility design and systems integration services.
