ORLANDO, Fla.-Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPSCompany LLC), operator of the world's first RFID-tagged, all-plastic pallet pool, announced that Terry Tamminen, former secretary of the California EPA,has joined its Board of Directors.

Tamminen's environmental activism began in the early 1990s when he founded the Santa Monica BayKeeper organization. His thought leadership led Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to appoint him secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency in 2003 and cabinet secretary, the chief policy advisor to the Governor, in December 2004.

He continues to advise the governor on energy and environmental policy, and serves as an advisor to several other governors andenvironmental organizations.

Tamminen is the author of several books on environmental policy, is a sought-after international lecturer on climate change and energy issues and has received numerous awards and honors for his achievements. He was just recognized by the UK Guardian, as "One of the 50 People Who Could Save the Planet."

Tamminen is currently the director of the New America Foundation's Climate Policy Program in Washington, D.C. The program, which was launched in March 2007, focuses on designing and implementing a national response to climate change by aggregating the action of state and local governments around the world.
