Inventory Reductions Allow Unifi to Close Central Distribution Center

Unifi, Inc. (Greensboro, N.C.) will close its Central Distribution Center in Mayodan, North Carolina and move its operations to its warehouse and logistics

Unifi, Inc. (Greensboro, N.C.) will close its Central Distribution Center in Mayodan, North Carolina and move its operations to its warehouse and logistics facilities in Yadkinville, North Carolina.

"Our recent success in reducing inventories allows us to centralize and maximize the overall efficiency of our warehousing and logistics operations, which will be accomplished with little cost to the organization," said Bill Lowe, Chief Operating Officer and CFO for Unifi. "We will continue to look for ways to maximize our efficiencies, while at the same time staying focused on profitable growth initiatives."

This change, which is expected to be completed by December 2005, will eliminate 19 positions and will relocate approximately 60 positions to Yadkinville.

Unifi is a diversified producer and processor of multi- filament polyester and nylon textured yarns and related raw materials. Unifi's yarns are found in home furnishings and apparel, as well as industrial, automotive, military and medical applications..
