Blue Bell, PA – C&D Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: CHP), Power Systems Division, a pioneer in the development and use of Motive Power products, today announced the release of the LIBRA, PLUG N’ GO battery. A sealed lead acid battery designed to reduce the maintenance requirements compared to regular flooded batteries in material handling applications.

C&D has combined our expertise designing and manufacturing of Motive Power batteries with our ongoing advances in 20 year high performance valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery designs for Standby applications. We have developed a new, patent pending; hybrid absorbed glass matt (AGM)/Gel design that overcomes acid stratification problems found in other VRLA Motive products and allows the battery to be oriented in the traditional vertical position.

The time and money associated with conventional battery maintenance, including cell watering, acid equalization, and expensive waste treatment systems, is virtually eliminated. The hybrid design improves cycle life for light and medium duty applications. LIBRA is the perfect balance between power and maintenance.

For 100 years, C&D Technologies has been a pioneer in the development and use of Industrial batteries. With this experience you can rely on C&D’s knowledge and experience to help you determine the best combination of Motive Power products for your material handling application. C&D has the right solution for your application.
