ATLANTA - Manhattan Associates®, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH), a global leader in providing supply chain execution (SCE) solutions, announced a new Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solution combining components of its SCE solutions with cutting-edge RFID capabilities to create the most feature rich RFID solution on the market. This new solution is the first to utilize Electronic Product Code (ePC) compliant printing technology to print RFID-tagged labels and is being demonstrated this week at the ePC Symposium in Chicago.

The newest RFID solution in Manhattan Associates' portfolio, this solution utilizes Microsoft technology by leveraging Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft's SQL Server technology, and Microsoft's Windows CE for handheld device interfaces. Making the most of its long heritage of providing Microsoft-based warehouse solutions with its Warehouse Management for Windows solutions, Manhattan Associates has taken the core warehouse management functionality from this application and merged it with new RFID-specific capabilities to create this new solution.

"RFID will be about more than tags and readers," said Eric Peters, senior vice president, products and strategy at Manhattan Associates. "RFID is the convergence of SCE applications and RFID technologies, a convergence that delivers true value in the supply chain. Manhattan Associates continues to lead the market in delivering new and innovative solutions that embrace RFID technology. We have taken components from key business processes in our supply chain application and leveraged our strong partnerships with RFID companies to create this solution. In this we can now offer the first solution that allows companies to print RFID-tagged labels on ePC Class 1 compliant printers, a major step in facilitating the widespread adoption of RFID technology."

Manhattan Associates' latest RFID solution continues to foster the efficiencies that RFID technology brings to the supply chain from sourcing to consumption. Companies that implement this solution gain an RFID solution that is optimized for the Windows environment and carries the Manhattan Associates' Retail Compliance Guarantee.

The RFID solution also includes:

--Purchase order management functionality;

--Radio frequency (RF) functionality leveraging Windows CE for hand-held devices;

--Full packing capabilities, quality audits and event updates;

--Advance Ship Notice (ASN) compliance;

--Shipping management; and

--RFID Event Management and Visibility functionality.

"Fundamental to the manufacturing and retail industries today is understanding where goods are in the supply chain," said Charles Johnson, managing director of manufacturing industry solutions at Microsoft. "RFID offers an exponential improvement over the bar code in helping companies achieve real-time, end-to-end supply chain visibility. Manhattan Associates is delivering a powerful RFID solution built on Microsoft technology that meets the warehousing and integration needs of manufacturers and retailers who want to benefit from RFID technology."

Manhattan Associates' SCE solutions encompass three primary application suites — Trading Partner Management (TPM), Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Each suite contains several applications that can be delivered to meet individual customers' needs as separate, stand-alone solutions or as fully integrated suites.
