Manhattan Associates (Atlanta) announced that MOL Logistics (Shanghai), a subsidiary of MOL (Mitsui O.S.K Lines), one of the world's largest multi-model shipping companies, has successfully implemented Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management solution at its warehouse at Zhang Jiagang in Jiangsu Province, China. The warehousing, locating, inventory and wave management capabilities will allow MOL Logistics China to optimize its storage utilization, track inventory from shipping to receiving, and automatically allocate inventory for shipment based on the status of stored products and specific order requirements.

"Since the establishment of MOL Logistics China in 1999, we have developed a good presence in China, which has enabled us to secure a modest but growing share of China's total foreign trade in the world's major trade lanes," said Preston Lui, CEO of MOL Logistics China. "In recognizing the growing customer need for not only basic container and non-container shipping services, but also logistics and supply chain management in China, we established a warehouse in Zhang Jiagang to provide storage of raw materials and finished products for our clients. In order to provide high-level service and boost customer satisfaction, we were looking for a solution that could optimize storage efficiency since the availability of space is always a problem during high storage periods.”
