Accu-Time Systems, Inc. Announces Launch of its Next Generation Workforce Management Terminal: The Optimus™

OPTIMUS: On-line, Personnel Time and Information Management Utility Station

Accu-Time Systems (ATS), a leading manufacturer of Workforce Management, Time and Attendance, and Data Collection devices, today announced the launch of its next generation workforce management terminal, the Optimus™.

The Optimus is the result of 15 years of expertise gained through close collaboration with business partners in an effort to build a smarter, more powerful tool for workforce management and time and attendance. The complexities facing HR and workforce management professionals are managed and simplified through the Optimus, providing a total hardware solution for Human Asset Management.

The Optimus offers multiple display and reader options including advanced fingerscan biometrics, finger geometry biometrics, barcode, magstripe, proximity, and smartcard. Communication options include encryption-secured Ethernet, WiFi, and modem. The Optimus is design and engineered to be completely field upgradeable – Optimus will grow and adapt to an enterprise’s evolving needs.

According to Peter DiMaria, founder and CEO of ATS, the Optimus opens up a world of opportunity for ATS partners and customers: “The Optimus provides a total hardware solution for Human Asset Management. The open architecture through use of UCS, JAVA, or CE.NET allows our customers the ability to customize how they manage and optimize their workforce – tailored to their specific and unique needs.”

The Optimus is completely backward-compatible with the reputable ATS Cyber Series products, allowing for a seamless migration to the Optimus. Additionally, enterprises have the flexibility to choose the mix of ATS products that best serve their varied needs, all on a single platform.

While the Optimus boasts a powerful processor and copious memory traditionally unheard of in time and attendance and workforce management terminals, it is the considerable display and ATM-style soft keys that make Optimus the ideal solution for HR professionals. Michael Glynn, corporate marketing manager, ATS, explains: “The generous display and programmable soft function keys allow for near limitless customization of the Optimus to suit varied needs. From manager functions to employee self-service, or, from barcode to state-of-the-art biometrics, the Optimus puts the power of the intelligent and optimized workforce at your command.”

The Optimus also incorporates multiple relays to control access to any area of a facility. Glynn, on the possibilities: “Progressive companies, looking to maximize operational efficiencies will use the Optimus to facilitate the rapid convergence of technology in HR, IT, and Facility/Security Management. A single, integrated system eliminates the need for redundant expensive systems and allows executive management the ability to take full advantage of the comprehensive data and knowledge gained through a multi-faceted, integrated system.”
