International Paper’s Smart Packaging business (Memphis, Tenn.) has changed its name to ASURYS. Under the new name, the business continues to focus on maintaining its leadership position in the RFID industry.
According to company officials, the name change helps ASURYS communicate that its RFID focus is broader than just packaging. "Putting tags on boxes is an important part of what we focus on,” said Alan Clark, general manager of ASURYS, “but we also specialize in helping clients maximize security, visibility and efficiency in their supply chains." He adds that he believes the change speaks to the company’s commitment as a long-term participant in the RFID industry, while opening the door for growth opportunities.
