The NE Ohio WERCouncil recently awarded its first set of scholarships to five deserving students. Two different categories of scholarships were awarded.

The first category was for children and grandchildren of WERC members. The members must have attended at least two WERC events over the past 18 months.

Scholarships in the amount of $500 each were awarded to Mark Cerny, Brett Dehlinger and Jake Uveges.

The second category of scholarships went to supply chain or related students at local universities. A $500 award went to Neha Khandelwal; a $250 award went to Tracy Granger. Both are students at The University of Akron.

These scholarships are funded by the fees charged at the various plant tours, roundtable discussions and other events sponsored by the NE Ohio WERCouncil.
