Newegg, an online seller of computer hardware and software, consumer electronics and communications products headquartered in City of Industry, Calif., selected Dematic Corp. (Grand Rapids, Mich.) to provide an automated material handling system for its new distribution center in Edison, N.J.
Newegg's growing business required increased capacity and service levels on the East Coast, including the capability to reach all customers in the United States with two-day freight service. The Dematic system includes C-L100 package conveyors, pick to light, and system management software.
“We didn’t want to deal with several different suppliers, or with a supplier that would hire out subcontractors,” said Craig Hayes, Newegg’s executive v.p. of product management.
