BEDFORD PARK, ILL—The third-party logistics provider has added a third warehouse to its Midwest region facilities, expanding to 1 million square feet.

The new distribution center is 306,552-square feet. It has direct access to an adjacent CSX intermodal yard. It is adjacent to another Nexus Distribution warehouse. Both warehouses are owned by Mirvac Industrial Trust, an Australia-based REIT.

These two facilities are accessible to the recently constructed Chicago Land Bridge, a half-mile-long private roadway that permits transportation of heavy containers, those weighing more than are allowed on U.S. public roadways. The bridge can be used to support imported and exported container drayage activities. The third warehouse is located a bit away from these two.

Nexus CEO Dean Hansen said, "The new building gives us exclusive control of the land bridge, which is crucial to our unique ability to handle heavy-loaded containers," explains Dean Hansen, the Nexus CEO.
