DEERFIELD, Ill.—Thor Petersen has been named director of Pregis Corp.'s distributor program.

Petersen will oversee programs and initiatives designed to strengthen the supplier/distributor relationship.

Pregis’ distributor program is being steered in part by the Pregis Distributor Council (PDC). The council is comprised of the company’s leading distributors and was formed earlier this year as a feedback and networking entity.

“One of the reasons we formed the PDC was to give key distributors the opportunity to tell us what specific programs, services and support they need to help them grow their business,” Petersen explains. “The end goal is to help speed-to-market protective packaging solutions for end-use customers.”

Under the banner of “focus on your growth,” Pregis will be creating new programs, including custom lead generation and marketing initiatives (brochures, public relations, co-branding, etc.) for its top-tier distributers. Additionally, training will be offered on a variety of industry topics.

“To help make sure that we continue to add value to each other, we also will be putting quarterly management reviews in place. This will allow us to monitor our progress and modify support elements as necessary,” he says.

Petersen has a bachelor's degree in packaging from Michigan State University.
