Arlington Heights, IL—Weber Marking Systems has introduced its R110XiIIIPlus RFID smart label printer/encoder, a unit that combines smart label encoding and verification with thermal/thermal-transfer printing. The printer/encoder is compliant with Electronic Product Code (EPC) ultra-high frequency (UHF) Class 0 and 0+ standards that are emerging for use in retail and governmental supply chain operations.

The R110XiIIIPlus encodes case- and pallet-level information on very thin, UHF transponders embedded in pressure-sensitive smart labels, and simultaneously verifies that the encoding is accurate. In addition, the printer is upgradeable to support future RFID EPC specifications.

The unit also prints text, bar codes and/or graphics on the surface of labels at a resolution of 203 dpi. Label up to 4.5” wide and 39” long can be dispensed at speeds up to 10” per second. The printer/encoder is built on heavy-gauge steel to ensure operational dependability in industrial settings.

Pressure-sensitive smart labels embedded with EPC UHF Class 0 and 0+ transponders are supplied by Weber. These labels also are suitable for thermal/thermal-transfer imprinting.
