AIM Global (Pittsburgh, Pa.), the worldwide trade association for automatic identification and mobility technologies, announced the details of two panel discussions focused on the standards and business impact of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technologies. The panel discussions are part of the 2006 AIM Annual Showcase and RFID Interactive, taking place at the Hyatt Newport Beach (Newport Beach, Calif.), February 22-24.

Chuck Biss, vice president, Hand Held Products, will moderate a Wednesday panel discussion, "Standards that will Impact Your Business," as key industry executives, and participants in the most active bar code and RFID standards bodies from Impinj, Intermec, QED Systems, Symbol Technologies and Philips Semiconductors share their insights on Automatic Identification standards at the international, national and application level.

"Understanding the progress in RFID, bar code, RTLS, data structure, and conformance/performance standards can be advantageous in positioning your company for further success," said Dan Mullen, president, AIM Global.

On February 23rd, Dann Maurno, executive editor of The Manufacturer will lead a discussion of top industry analysts from Robert W. Baird, Lehman Brothers and Frost & Sullivan, as they share their insights and observations on the development of automatic identification, RFID and mobility technologies during the panel "Connecting Market Trends to your Business Plan." These experts will offer a realistic view of market trends that apply to any business plan for 2006 and beyond.
