RPCC Sponsors Industry Education Forum

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Reusable Pallet & Container Coalition (RPCC) is hosting an open forum on key industry issues, it was announced today. The RPCC education conference will be held March 10-11 at the Westin Galleria in Dallas, Texas. In its ongoing effort to educate the public, the media, the business community and local, state and federal policy makers on the economic and environmental advantages of Reusable Transport Packaging (RTP), all interested parties are invited to join industry leaders and corporate executives at the Dallas meeting.

Topics ranging from global standardization, radio frequency identification (RFID), asset tracking and tracing, packaging innovations, RTP economic benefits and environmental initiatives will be addressed by speakers from research institutions, the RTP industry and the government.

The theme of this year’s conference is Reusable Packaging: From Revolution to Evolution. Additional subjects which will be explored include The Economics of European RTP: A Model for North American Success; North American RTP Economic Models; Benefits of RTP in Solid Waste Management & Greenhouse Gas Emissions; and Food Supply Chain Security Issues.

The keynote panel session—Innovative Applications & Case Studies in RTP--includes panelists from the automotive, pharmaceutical, agricultural, beverage and chemical industries. All presentations and workshop discussions by policymakers and business leaders will highlight emerging issues surrounding reusable containers and pallets, regardless of material.

“The RPCC education conference offers a dynamic occasion for all segments of the RTP industry to gain knowledge from top-notch speakers and to benefit from terrific networking opportunities,” said Allan Wasserman of ORBIS, RPCC president. “In addition, this year the Coalition is making a special effort to reach out to members of the media and government as part of the RPCC’s national RTP awareness initiative.”

An agenda and registration information for this exciting program can be found on RPCC’s web: www.rpcc.us.

Founded in 1999, the RPCC is a non-profit association that advocates the growth of reusable packaging and systems, regardless of material, through legislative and regulatory actions; strategic alliances; standards, guidelines, best practices; and through public awareness. The association takes this position because of the economic and environmental benefits of reusable transport packaging. Reusable pallet and container systems are used globally by leading companies, who have found these systems to be the most cost-effective and environment-friendly method of handling and transporting most types of goods. The RPCC membership believes the issue of non-reusable pallets or containers is a national concern that leads to millions of dollars in waste each year.
