Saftronics Inc. forms strategic alliance to brand label ABB’s DCS400 product and market ABB’s DCS500 drive products in the United States. In addition to providing engineering and service support to Saftronics’ current customers and agents, Saftronics will also be a resource to support the existing DC drive user base developed by the ABB organization.

”Our recent acquisition of Fincor Inc., combined with our six regional drive centers, enables us to provide responsive localized service to both ABB and Saftronics users throughout North America,” said David van der Merwe, president of Safetronics. “This alliance supports our long-term commitment to the continued support of the industrial customer base that uses the benefits of DC drive technology.”

The agreement includes ABB’s newly developed 400 and 500 Series Digital Drive products. The 400 Series Drives are designed for stand-alone applications and the 500 Series product provides complete system capability with management feedback, diagnostics and multi-motor control.

Based in Fort Myers, Florida, Safetronics has been developing, manufacturing and marketing solid-state motor controls to a host of major industries, including mining, material handling, lumber, food processing, plastics, petroleum, crane and hoist, paper, ski-lift, HVAC and wastewater operations for 30 years. These rugged drives control the operation of motors, from fractional to 5,000 hp, used in applications such as pumps, conveyors, elevators and general process control systems. The Saftronics organization currently maintains drive centers in California, Utah, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Oregon and Canada.
