Walker Remote-Controlled Magnets

Oct. 28, 2009
Walker Magnetics says its circular electric lift magnets (CER) are the first to offer wireless remote control.

Walker developed the CER series with wireless remote to enhance safety and save time. Workers can switch the magnets on or off from 15 feet away. Push-button controls attract and release work pieces. For additional safety, the release features a two-button design. In addition, the device won’t lift if contact with the material isn’t secure.

Walker’s new wireless remote is available on the CER series magnets (models CER-5 through CER-12). The company says customers with existing CER magnets can upgrade to IR remote control.

These magnets can be used for in-plant handling of steel plate, flat stock, castings, forgings or machined components in all types of facilities, Walker notes.
