The tornado hit the facility on May 8th, and the operating company of USF Corp. was able to move its shipping operations from Oklahoma City to its terminals in Tulsa and Dallas with support for the Dallas division office and Wichita general office. On average, daily 500,000 pounds of outbound freight are handled at the Oklahoma City facility. No one was injured in the incident.

Within five days of the tornado, USF Dugan had clean up completed at the Oklahoma City terminal and a contractor beginning to rebuild. The new 30-door facility should be open no later than August 8th.

“The aftermath of this terrible event has shown us what people are really made of,” says USF Dugan President and CEO, Walter D. Ainsworth. “Our employees in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas Wichita pitched in under very difficult circumstances to make sure our customers would have uninterrupted service. And our customers have been incredibly supportive, pledging additional business in an effort to help us rebuild.”
