Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp. (Brookfield, Wis.) has acquired the Wisconsin operations of Material Handling Services, a Pon North America (Netherlands) company. Pon North America has purchased Illinois Material Handling from Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp. Wisconsin Lift Truck was the winner of Material Handling Management’s Value Added Award in 2002.

“The benefits for our Wisconsin customers of adding Material Handling Services’ operations to ours are many, said Jerry Weidmann, chief operating officer of Wisconsin Lift Truck. “We will have more technicians at more locations, closer to our customers throughout the state. The number of line items on the shelf in our parts inventory will increase. Our rental fleet will grow to 750 units, and our product offerings will increase to provide more alternatives to meet our customers’ requirements,”

Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp. and Pon North America will collaborate on joint accounts and continue to interact through joint product lines. The ability to serve accounts with operations that span Wisconsin and Illinois will be enhanced by the close contacts and friendships formed by former co-workers, said Weidmann.

Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp., one of Wisconsin’s larger privately held firms, is a 44-year-old, full service material handling distributor with more than 375 employees. In addition to its material handling business, Wisconsin Lift Truck’s Wolter Power Systems division specializes in new industrial engine and generator sales, service and parts; and its Contractors Equipment Services division offers new and used sales, service, parts and rentals of construction equipment.
