Carrier Volumes Plummeted, Rates Soared Before July 4

How did the July 4th holiday affect spot market rates and volumes for carriers?

Load volumes for carriers declined 22% due to business closures during the July 4th holiday week, according to the DAT Trendlines report.  Van, reefer and flatbed rates all rose just before the holiday—as did fuel prices, by 3.3%. Click here to see a breakdown of all these figures.
