ECT in Rotterdam has launched an all-water feeder service to Stockholm

Feeder operators Team Lines and Unifeeder started a new weekly feeder service between the terminals of Europe Container Terminals (ECT) in Rotterdam and Container Terminalen Frihamnen (CTF) in Stockholm.

The service offers the trade a direct all-water service between the two terminals. Both terminal groups are part of the North European network of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH). These new services will provide customers the option of moving containers between Rotterdam and the East Coast of Sweden in a more cost efficient and environmentally friendly manner, said the company.

“Our policy is to have an efficient network of terminals and fast and reliable services between these terminals, offering our customers optimal access to both European and overseas markets,” said Jan Westerhoud, ECT President and HPH director Northern Europe.

“Offering our existing and potential customers this additional and alternative routing makes complete sense. The total transport logistics cost will be reduced, which is an area that our customers have been focusing on,” added Martin Allison CEO of Hutchison Ports Sweden.

The European HPH network comprises container terminals in Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain and Italy and inland terminals in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
