Savannah Port Adds Asia-East Coast Service

“Savannah is a key receiving point for major retail shipments into the U.S.,” says George Hearn, vice president managing director of the U.S. Southern Region of American President Lines, “and the Asia-East Coast Service (EC3) will increase our ability to serve customers in the region.”

Savannah has been upgrading facilities and recently opened Phase One of a new container berth as it continues to increase container storage areas and other equipment additions as part of a 10-year, $750 million improvement plan to increase its container capacity.
