Taking the industry’s pulse
The warehouse management system (WMS) marketplace continues to shake out, as two more companies — LIS and V3 Systems — have been gobbled up by rival WMS vendors (RedPrairie and Optum, respectively). Taking advantage of the current push for data synchronization (see cover article, “Getting into sync”), IBM has picked up Trigo Technologies for its data sync solutions. And as predicted here earlier, what little remains of Covisint has been acquired by Compuware, effectively bringing to a close the saga of the automotive industry’s ill-fated attempt to create an online marketplace for all OEMs and suppliers.
