Panjiva, a research firm specializing in global trade analysis, reported an increase in global trade activity with the U.S. in January. The firm reported that the number of waterborne shipments coming into the U.S. experienced a 17% month-over-month increase from December to January, erasing the precipitous decline the firm reported in December.
Similarly, the number of global manufacturers shipping to the U.S. increased 6% versus December. This is the first December-to-January increase the firm has reported since it began collecting data three years ago.
