(Columbus, Ohio) Exel Direct, the big-ticket product fulfillment business unit of global supply chain management leader Exel, today announced it has begun providing in-home delivery services for Best Buy Co., Inc. Best Buy is North America’s leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances.

With this contract win, Exel Direct will oversee home delivery operations for Best Buy’s large-ticket electronics and appliances, such as large screen televisions, stoves and refrigerators, in Best Buy’s markets in Las Vegas, Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina, Hartford, Connecticut, and Portland, Oregon. Exel Direct is projected to handle more than 50,000 deliveries annually among these locations.

Upon delivery to Best Buy customers’ homes, Exel Direct’s two-person teams will unpack and install new merchandise and haul away packing debris and old units. Exel Direct also manages Best Buy’s consolidation cross-dock centers within these markets.

Exel’s consolidation services, which provides integrated logistics services for international containerized cargo, also works with Best Buy. Specifically, Exel’s consolidation services business manages the daily transportation operations from Best Buy offices in Thailand, Malaysia and Shanghai to North America.
