Interroll to Acquire Portec

The acquisition of this maker of conveyor belt curves is expected to close on July 1st, 2013.

The Interroll Group, the Swiss manufacturer of products for internal logistics at sites around the world, signed a definitive agreement to acquire Colorado-based Portec Group International, Inc. With this acquisition, Interroll intends to strengthen its business activities and market presence in North America. Interroll will finance the acquisition with cash. The purchase price was not disclosed, and the acquisition is expected to close on July 1st, 2013.

Portec has more than 60,000 installations of its conveyor curves, especially in airports, distribution centers and courier and postal services.

"The technological expertise Portec has on belt curves for medium and heavy duties will enable us to continue to open up new business areas for our customers worldwide,” said Paul Zumbühl, CEO of Interroll. “At the same time, the strong U.S. presence of Portec will facilitate and accelerate our access to the market for other products.”
