Survey Says ERP to eat into the WMS market

With a market projected to grow at a compounded annual rate of 9.7% for the next five years, supply chain execution solutions should grow from 2003’s $ 3.3 billion to $.5.2 billion by 2008.

Figures and observations are from ARC’s just-released study, “Supply Chain Execution Worldwide Outlook.” Major market penetration for ERP has been in the WMS arena and this trend is expected to continue. Not as vulnerable to date have been Transportation Management Systems and Production Management Systems in chemicals, paper, oil and gas.
