The largest manufacturer of small, air-cooled engines for lawn, garden, and other outdoor power equipment, Briggs & Stratten Corp. has implemented MCA Solutions' Service Planning and Optimization suite. "Trying to project service parts needs has been an immense undertaking," says John Guy, vice president of distribution for Briggs & Stratten. The company's products are designed, manufactured, marketed, and serviced in more than 100 countries. Briggs & Stratten is using the Service Planning and Optimization tool in its aftermarket business unit to support all of its product lines through its distribution network.

Spire Group Ltd. has gone live with Motek's Priya Warehouse Management System. The company's first installation is in a @.2 million cubic foot public refrigerated warehouse in Montreal, Canada. It plans to implement the WMS globally over the next five years.

"Priya ensures we build smart warehouses by providing comprehensive management systems for receiving, billing, pickng, customer communication, and employee labor standards, said Robb Lockie, director of information technology for Spire's Everest Cold Storage facility.

In separate news, TradeBeam Holdings, Inc. a provider of on-demand global trade management software and services, announced it had closed its Series C funding for over $29 million. The funds will be used to expand global operations in Europe and expedite global product development-including its solution for the Asian market, according to TradeBeam.
