RFID TagSource, a provider of RFID tagging solutions, and Tracient Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of wireless handheld RFID readers, announced they have signed a distribution agreement whereby RFID TagSource will distribute Tracient’s RFID reader products in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Tracient line of HF and UHF wireless, handheld and mobile RFID readers has been designed specifically for applications where deployment flexibility and close proximity reads are attractive options, said RFID TagSource. Examples include asset tracking, inventory management and contactless ticketing applications. Tracient handheld units include out-of-the box support for Bluetooth connectivity to popular handheld computers such as Motorola, BlackBerry and other leading mobile devices providing RFID capability to existing mobile applications.
“The Tracient products fit an attractive niche in the handheld mobile RFID reader market,” said Kevin Donahue, managing director of RFID TagSource. "The lightweight ergonomic design combined with an intuitive software interface and multiple connectivity options is unique. They are truly elegant in their simplicity.”
“We are really excited to be working with RFID TagSource to support our partners and customers in the North American market,” said Grant Pugh, Tracient CEO. “They have an established network of RFID solution providers and a great reputation for exceeding customer expectations. Working with their team is a logical fit as we expand our business opportunities in North America.”
