Bastian Serves South America through Brazil

March 28, 2011
To better serve the growing distribution and manufacturing markets throughout South America, Bastian Material Handling, headquartered in Indianapolis, formed a new office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“In recent years, Brazil has become one of the stronger world markets driven by its population and growing consumer base,” said Bill Bastian II, president of Bastian Material Handling. “With this growth, there is a need for distribution and manufacturing automation, which makes it an ideal location for our fourth international office.”

In conjunction with opening the new office, Bastian has hired three initial employees and will hire an additional five from the Sao Paulo region—including an administrative manager, an additional field sales engineer, and a small manufacturing team.

Guillermo Albaladejo is the new general manager of Bastian South America and reports that the new office is receiving requests for proposals and has a base list of suppliers ready to serve customers throughout Brazil and the rest of South America.
