The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) claims a “first-ever comprehensive retail conference on environmental sustainability” will provide a collaborative forum to discuss methods, means and vision surrounding compliance practices. The conference is set for September 22-24, 2008, at the Embassy Suites in Frisco, Texas.

“The RILA Environmental Sustainability & Compliance Conference will focus on environmental compliance and offer industry leaders a forum to share experiences and learn from others about ways to meet and exceed expectations set by regulators,” said Casey Chroust, senior vice president of retail operations.

The RILA Environmental Sustainability Compliance Conference comes a year after the launch of the RILA Sustainability Initiative (RSI), a collaborative initiative launched to help leading retail companies meet environmental standards relevant to the retail industry and pursue responsible environmentally sustainable activities and business practices. RSI membership is open to both RILA members and non-RILA members.
