The deal, subject to contract, is DHL's biggest automotive sector deal and will see DHL support the annual build of more than 300,000 cars.

The company says this cements DHL's position as the leading player in the UK automotive market. Under the new contract, DHL's activity will be extended from its existing operation at Castle Bromwich, to include Jaguar and Land Rover's sites at Halewood and Solihull. DHL Exel Supply Chain will be managing Jaguar and Land Rover suppliers to ensure they are shipping the right materials at the right time, as well as providing a dedicated team focused on improving the UK and EU collections operations.

Bruce Edwards, CEO DHL Supply Chain, Corporate Information Solutions said: "This contract is hugely exciting for us and is testament to the expertise that DHL has established within the automotive sector. Our global network, extensive experience in the automotive market and our ability to collaborate with other DHL business units to provide a seamless service, means we have an extremely strong proposition to offer to automotive manufacturers like Jaguar and Land Rover."
In other news, DHL entered into a strategic partnership with Dubai Industrial City to provide a range of logistics services. DHL Exel Supply Chain, DHL Express, Danzas AEI, and DHL Global Forwarding will develop transPARK, a dedicated logistics park serving Dubai Industrial City.
