Eleets Transportation Names Thomas Shurstad President

Eleets Transportation, an asset-light provider of transportation and logistics services, has named industry veteran Thomas Shurstad as president. He previously served as president of Railex, and before that president of Pacer International

Eleets Transportation Co. Inc., an asset-light provider of transportation and logistics services, has named Thomas Shurstad as president. Shurstad was formerly president of Railex, a refrigerated boxcar service provider, and before that he was president of Pacer International. He has 30 years of domestic and international transportation experience. He will be based in Jacksonville, Fla.

Concurrent with this move, Al Steele has been named CEO and chairman. Previously, Steele was president and CEO.

Shurstad will be responsible for further developing and growing Eleets’ portfolio of services, which include full truckload and LTL, drayage, intermodal, rail, pre-print, third-party logistics, warehousing, cross-docking and import/export. Eleets was a start-up company in 2007, and today has a run rate of more than $100 million in annual revenues, with 350 trucks and employing 100 people in 15 states.
