With the use of a wide body MD 11 freighter, FedEx doubles its cargo capacity on its Europe to Asia link by an additional 850,000 pounds, with the service that operates five flights per week.

Trade between Europe and China has increased – up 23% last year -- to the point where it has surpassed trade between the U.S. and China. The new route offers direct connection between Shanghai and Narita, Japan, which extends cut off times for cities in Eastern China by as much as one day.

Trade between China and India has been expanding and is projected to reach more than $20 billion by 2008. “Indian exports to China have been growing at more than twice the rate of overall Indian exports for the last few years,” notes Gene Huang, FedEx Corp.’s chief economist.
