UPS announced it was adding 167 compressed natural gas (CNG) delivery trucks to tis fleet and taking delivery of 139 new propane delivery trucks in North America.


As part of an environmental initiative, UPS said it would use biodiesel fuel in its ground support vehicles at its air hub in Louisville, KY.


UPS already operates over 800 CNG vehicles in the US and nearly 600 propane-powered trucks in Canada and Mexico.


The company's global alternative-fuel fleet numbers 1,629 vehicles including CNG, liquified natural gas, propane, electric, and hybrid vehicles.
