A long-term parts and maintenance contract between Deutsche Telekom AG and Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN) called for DPWN to take over logistics centers

A long-term parts and maintenance contract between Deutsche Telekom AG and Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN) called for DPWN to take over logistics centers supporting Deutsche Telekom’s parts operation. DPWN took ownership of the facilities in 2000 and has since lodged claims over building permits and faulty construction. DPWN says Deutsche Telecom gave certain warranty guarantees which it is now attempting to enforce.

The U.K.’s Transport Intelligence reports the Deutsche Telekom relationship was influential in forming DHL Solutions’ strategy to provide high-speed network transport and warehousing services for the telecommunications and information technology sectors. The difficulty with the Deutsche Telekom relationship could affect that strategy, says Transport Intelligence.
