Logistics Professionals Deliver Above and Beyond Toyota Material Handling

Logistics Professionals Deliver Above and Beyond

Here are three examples of supply chain excellence brought to a higher level in service to mankind.

  • Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU)  participated in the Tri-State Toyota Dealers' seventh annual food donation, serving as a key partner, along with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., and Toyota Financial Services to collect and distribute nonperishable food to benefit the non-profit hunger relief organization, Philabundance.  TMHU worked with local dealer Toyota Material Handling Northeast, Inc. to donate the use of four 8-Series pneumatic lift trucks and one walkie pallet truck to help unload more than 35 tons of nonperishable food from a convoy of 49 Toyota Tundras. In total, more than 35 tons of non-perishable goods were collected to benefit the Philadelphia region’s largest hunger relief organization.
  • SHIFT Freight, a less-than-truckload service provider, established SHIFT The World, a program through which customers can dedicate shipments to their favorite causes and SHIFT donates to that cause. SHIFT’s customers have already dedicated shipments to more than two dozen organizations, and the carrier expects that number to more than double in 2014.
  • The Wounded Warrior Project, in partnership with Flagship Logistics Group, has helped staff one of the first ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) exceeding facilities built by a Top 100 Third Party Logistics provider. Through its Warriors to Work Program, WWP works with returning veterans and with companies all over the U.S. to place those veterans and their families back into civilian lives, providing all transition support and services.  WWP is available to work with any company in the transport and logistics sector to return veterans to civilian roles matching their skill sets and expertise.
