Penton Media Debuts Logistics Today Digital Magazine

Penton Media announced today that it is expanding its logistics network by transitioning Outsourced Logistics to Logistics Today. The premier resource devoted exclusively to serving the needs of senior-level supply chain, transportation, distribution and logistics operations managers will be emailed to 75,000 digital subscribers twice a month–providing clients the extra exposure and the timeliness that comes with a digital publication.

Digital publications are the fastest growing format in magazines, and are particularly suited for a dynamic readership such as logistics and supply chain managers, who rely on timely access to information and perspective on the marketplace. Logistics Today will showcase practical advice and commentary on a twice a month schedule that delivers regular analysis in an uncluttered, get-straight-to-the-point format. Readers will find all the vital information they relied on in Outsourced Logistics—and more—in Logistics Today. Logistics Today is a one-stop logistics shop with coverage that cuts across the entire manufacturing network, providing the broadest reach and the greatest supply chain marketplace exposure.

“Logistics professionals are looking for news and information that keeps pace with their needs,” said Perry Trunick, chief editor. “Logistics Today will provide news, analysis, features and educational content that is concise, accessible and targeted directly to the business needs of senior logistics executives.”

The new website, launching in tandem with the issue debut, serves the entire logistics market by offering dedicated content sections on key topics consisting of global logistics, supply chain management, 3PL/outsourcing, technology, transport, distribution, and greensourcing. In addition, the site offers interactive media options such as video, webinars and forums/blogs.

“We realize that our subscribers are short on time and frequently on the go, and they’ve told us that they prefer to have access to essential information in one place,” said David Blanchard, editorial director and associate publisher. “They want news, analysis, features and educational content that will help them do their jobs better. In addition, they’ve told us they would prefer information that’s presented in a concise, accessible and enjoyable way. In an economic environment that has no patience for business-as-usual thinking, Logistics Today offers a competitive advantage to its clients—the ability to reach 75,000 logistics decision-makers at any time, wherever they may be. That’s the Logistics Today advantage.”
