“We are delighted to have achieved all three levels of voluntary trans-border security programs from agencies on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border," said John Costanzo, President of Purolator U.S.A. as he announced that the US-based logistics arm of Canada's Purolator Courier Ltd., was approved for PIP, C-TPAT, and FAST.

PIP, which stands for Partners in Protection, is a Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency program geared toward the enhancement of supply chain security.

C-TPAT, stands for Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, an initiative that originates with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the Department of Homeland Security. Companies who achieved this accreditation are expected to secure their supply chains against possible compromise, communicate their efforts to their business partners and maintain a high level of compliance in other Customs related areas.

Imbedded in both PIP. and C-TPAT is the FAST program which stands for Free and Secure Trade. This is a high visibility program recognizing low-risk surface carriers and is acknowledged by both U.S. and Canadian Customs authorities.
