The International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) introduced its updated and redesigned Logistics Services Locator (LSL) which it says will allow shippers to search its North American member database by Zip Code/Postal Code, company or keyword and submit a request for information (RFI) to the main contact at each appropriate member location.

Listings are developed and updated by IWLA members themselves and include street location, key contacts and information on the facilities. Users will also be able to view an overhead satellite image of the facilities.

The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) has also announced a payment guarantee bond program for 3PLs to reduce the risk of unpaid freight charges. “The Guaranteed Payment Program will give the best 3PLs in the industry the ability to leverage a marketing tool that builds confidence within existing customer relationships and helps attract new customers and new capacity,” said Robert Voltmann, president and CEO of TIA. The program will cover all carriers, shippers and other 3PLs doing business with participants without cost or hassle, he explained.

The payment guarantee program was developed with TIA affiliates TIA Services, Avalon Risk Management and Lincoln General Insurance Company and offers coverage of up to $100,000.
