UPS Freight Speeds Its National Network

June 3, 2009
UPS’ most recent enhancements are transit times that are faster and with more direct routing within, to and from Kansas to 70 cities from coast to coast.

In close proximity, there is now next-day service for shippers from Manhattan, Salina and Marysville to Kansas City, St. Louis, Wichita, Tulsa and Des Moines. Direct routing means that the three northern Kansas cities will have two-day delivery to Houston, Nashville and New Orleans. There is three-day delivery for the Kansas locales to such cities as Los Angeles and San Francisco, Richmond and Norfolk.

UPS Freight offers the same track and trace capabilities that small shipment customers use, including UPS Worldship and Quantum View. All of the new transits are covered by the carrier’s time-definite guarantee for shipments moving under its 560 Tariff.

Speaking of the new routes, UPS Freight president, Jack Holmes, says, "UPS is on a path to create a combination of reliability, technology and speed that no other competitor can match. Reducing transit times, guaranteeing deliveries and using advanced tracking technology all combine to provide maximum value for our customers."
