The new service guaranteed commit time for its 2nd Day Air A.M. delivery service is 10:30 a.m. -- the previous time had been 12:00 p.m. Too, the carrier has added Saturday delivery for its UPS 2nd Day Air service. The Saturday option costs $12.50 per package, in addition to regular shipping rates.
Among other possibilities, UPS sees the upgraded service as greater help to just-in-time manufacturing by allowing more time during the day for product assembly operations. Too, the company feels that retailers will pick up time in restocking.
